THE VESPER

Unique designs combined with the best garments. This design is all about telling the story of Vesper; from the moment Bond meets her, Bond’s interest is all hers. However, throughout the story it becomes apparent that Vesper’s intentions are a bit double; she’s forced to play Bond and get away with the money, otherwise Spectre (at that time an unknown organisation) will kill her Algerian lover. So, despite her falling in love with Bond, she actually literally and figuratively was encaged due to love as can be seen throughout the movie, as she is wearing an Algerian loveknot around her neck for quite some time (paying homage to her Algerian lover). Thereby, most interesting and maybe the most symbolizing moment of the whole movie, Vesper literally dies encaged in a cage as Bond comes to rescue her, but he is too late as Vesper can’t live with what she has done to James (she obviously betrayed him, just as Mathis did) and thus locks herself in the cage, sinking to the bottom of death in a beautiful Venetian house. Hence, the 5 cards (which are originally from Live and Let Die with Roger Moore), resemble the stages of Vesper and James throughout the movie: Devil, Death, Lovers and Fortune.

On another note, during the most tense scene (the casino scene where Bond is battling Le Chiffffre), Bond needs something to tone down his nervousness and tensions, so he comes up with a great drink: the Vesper Martini, which consists (amongst other ingredients) of the beautiful golden liquor of ‘Lillet Blanc’. This i obviously meant to be, as Femme D’or feels that the golden touch a Vesper Martini provides, is more than mouthwatering.
